Pigs must be flying!

If you should happen to look up and see a flying pig, it's probably because I (finally) gave in and joined Pinterest. Wow. I had vowed more than once not to give in to the Pinterest craze but one night I found myself desperately trying to stay awake until midnight (to report for my after-prom volunteer shift) and Pinterest seemed like a logical way to kill a couple of hours. It's probably been a good thing that I've been too busy to spend much time searching and pinning. There are some seriously creative people out there with some amazing ideas and creations!

Ha!ha! I found it very addictive the first month. Now I forget to pin things or go days without looking at pinterest.

I just found your blog through Kelly's Korner. I live down in the Springs! I'm another girl from the south {West Texas, actually} who moved to Colorado :)

Hello, anonymous! :)

In my opinion, Garden of the Gods is a must-do. I also like the US Air Force Academy, Manitou Springs, and Pikes Peak (either the cog or drive up it!) They Royal Gorge Bridge is pretty cool too, and only a short drive away. Also fun for kids is Santa's Workshop (the North Pole) Flying W Ranch, and Focus on the Family). Sky Sox games are fun as are Rockies games in Denver. I also highly recommend driving 2.5 hours to Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, CO. It is amazing!

As far as restaurants, we love Il Vicino and Jose Muldoons (downtown Co Springs) and Amanda's Fonda in Old Colorado City. Salsa Brava is a great local mexican place. Palmer Lake has some great local places--The Villa and Bella Panini and also The Rock House for ice cream. Definitely hit Pinkberry for some fro-yo (LuLu's is great too!) Rudy's BBQ is good as well. The Mason Jar. Marigold's. Maybe try Crave for Burgers. Margarita at Pine Creek is amazing...but pricey for dinner and not super kid-friendly. We have lots of chains that are good too, some that maybe you don't have in your area? I don't know! Hope that helps.
