A New Day, A New Week

FOR TODAY...

Outside my window... The sun is shining on the bright, white snow that we woke up to. It was quite unexpected, but quite welcome!

I am thinking... about the activities of the week. It's already feeling full.

I am thankful for... a husband and friend who drive kids to school when it's snowy and cold. And for some hopeful news about Joanne! 

I am wearing... plaid pajama pants and my dad's Arkansas sweatshirt. 

I am remembering... that last Monday morning our beagle was wearing a cone and recovering from an unfortunate situation. Jack-the-beagle had a follow-up appointment earlier this morning and things are healing but he needs another round of antibiotics to fully clear things up. He actually didn't have to wear his cone for very long. The vet let us take it off since he's overweight and there's no possible way he could reach "back there" because of his size. We're working on getting his weight down. 

I am going... to meet a friend for coffee later today before I begin my carpool rounds. It's the perfect day for it.

I am currently reading... Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

I am hoping... to finally meet Amber this week. More on that later.

On my mind... I need to schedule a doctor's appointment for some "issues" that keep cropping up.

Noticing that... the calendar indicates that my son will be fourteen in a couple of weeks. And he wants some kind of party with his friends to celebrate. Guess I need to get it in gear. 

Pondering these words... "on the third day". Bible study last week piqued my interest in this phrase and I noticed it again yesterday while saying the creed in church. Would love to do a little digging around in the Word for more instances of it's use and all that it means. Anyone have some extra time they can lend me?

In the kitchen... Well, so far this morning I've cleaned out my refrigerator, prepped all the meat for the meals on my menu plan, and figured out what we're having for dinner. Was thinking about making a batch of refrigerator bran muffins but I think I'll wait until tomorrow. 

Around the house... Mondays are usually my designated domestic day. Seems I need this day to bring order back to our home after everyone being at home all weekend. I'll be cleaning bathrooms, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, etc. Lucky me. 

One of my favorite things... Well, one of my new favorite things is this bath pillow I bought last week. Makes reading in the tub so much more enjoyable, not to mention COMFORTABLE!

Today

Outside my window... It is cloudy, cool, and a gentle rain is falling. {Ahhhh. Happiness}

I am thinking... about my sister. She is having a c-section later this afternoon and will get to meet her sweet little baby boy! We are so thrilled for her! I'll share more when I have some info!

I am thankful for... John, Will, Sarah, and Abbey. I love those guys so much.

From the kitchen... I have a roast in the crockpot and it smells soooooooo good. John peeled some potatoes for me a little while ago {I'm allergic to something in the peeling and will have a full-blown asthma attack if I peel a potato--weird} and I'm going to make mashed potatoes, gravy, and roasted brussel sprouts to go with the roast. Yummmmmmm.

I am wearing... shorts and a t-shirt. And flip-flops.

I am creating... a new two-week menu plan and fun theme for Bunco. I'm thinking football!

I am going... to pick kids up from school in a little while. And drop some stuff by Goodwill. I've been de-cluttering and it feels great!

I am reading... The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan

I am hoping... that I'm not getting a cold. I have a scratchy sore throat and a very runny nose. Ugh.

I am hearing... rain falling and my husband working in the other room. {I love it when he works from home!}

One of my favorite things... is when everyone arrives home from their school day!

A few plans for the rest of the week: A couple of hikes with friends, a meeting, a Camp Rock 2 pajama/pizza party, and a double date {concert} with some friends we love!

Outside my window... The sun is shining and a cool breeze is blowing. I love summer mornings.

I am thinking... that my husband makes THE best coffee. And he always has it ready for me when I wake up. Just one of the many reasons I adore him!

I am thankful for... my family.

I am wearing... my pjs. They're pink with red lobsters and red polka dots. I love them.

I am creating... a two-week menu plan and a list of errands to run later this afternoon.

I am going... Crocodile Dock (VBS) this morning (I'm having a blast!) and then to run lots of errands in Colorado Springs this afternoon.

I am reading... The Other by David Guterson. I picked it up at the library one night this week. Thanks for all your suggestions...

I am hoping...I can sleep in on Saturday. I've been up early every day for two weeks!

I am hearing... Jack-the-beagle snore. Loudly. Other than that it's still pretty quiet.

Around the house...Laundry just never goes away, does it? And neither do weeds. I need to go out and pull some soon!

One of my favorite things... is the ice-shaver that my friend gave me when I was pregnant with Abbey. I'm thinking it will be put to good use today. I love pouring blue-raspberry snow cone syrup over a cup of shaved ice on a hot day!

A few plans for the rest of the week ... VBS finale tonight, grocery shopping, and a low-key weekend. Possibly a Girl's Night Out.

Status Update

I saw this idea on Elizabeth's blog the other day and decided to be a copy-cat!

Sitting... at my kitchen table finishing up some lunch and reading a few blogs.

Drinking... sweet tea with lemon. 

Listening... to nothing. I like silence.

Drawing a blank... about what to do for the next 1.5 hours until the afternoon madness begins. Clean? Rest? Read? Blog? (Clearly blogging won!)

Hoping... to feel better soon. I seem to have caught Abbey's cold from last week.

Refusing... to take medicine. I have a weird hang-up about putting meds in my body. 

Amazed... at the unseasonably warm temps we're having this week. SO ready for spring.

Eager... for the weekend.

Trying to decide... between chicken noodle soup and enchiladas for dinner. Hmmmmm... (either way the chicken is prepped and ready!)

Currently reading... NOTHING. I'm very open to suggestions though! FYI, I decided not to finish Breaking Dawn. My Bunco friend told me how it ended and I realized I'm not going to miss anything by not finishing it. 

Loving... the sunshine! the Vera Bradley bag that John's mom gave me for Christmas! the white chocolate coconut creamer I bought for my coffee! and my church! (we had an amazing Ash Wednesday service last night.

Not loving... my dog who can't decide if he wants to stay IN or OUT. 

Spending... the next forty days without Starbucks. 

Wondering... how Will did in his spelling bee today. I didn't get to go!!!
