It's a good thing their jeans still fit...

Yesterday it was 80 degrees here. Right now, it's 48.

After buying school supplies, lunch boxes, new shoes, and paying school fees, I decided to let our bank account recover and wait until next month to buy jeans for everyone. It's a good thing their old ones still fit because it is CHILLY today. I'm definitely ready for fall!

Everyone had a great first day yesterday. Will came home SO excited (and chatty) and I was very thankful that his day went so well. He gets home an hour before the girls, so after I picked him up, we went and got a Dr. Pepper and he just about talked my ears off. I loved every minute of it.

When I picked the girls up, they both walked out smiling and talking non-stop. I think this is going to be a great year!

Glad to see a new post from you. Hope you get a new computer soon!

I'm glad the new school year is starting off well. I sure don't miss all the expenses of having a kid in school! In a few years I'm sure we'll be helping get Emmy outfitted for school.

Have a great weekend!

Love and hugs,

Diane

Yay, yay, yay! Also, i was baffled by the weather, too. But isn't it cozy? Enjoy your brief respite from the heat.

That's great to hear! I can't stop talking about school to my mom! Every time I come back from school, it's always, "guess what happened in school today?".

Isn't this crazy weather! My daughter's birthday is tomorrow and the plan is to have kids over Tuesday to swim in our above ground pool. This is already "plan B" but I think we'll have to move on to "plan C"! I'm going to have to dig out the other half of our wardrobe sooner than I thought.
I'm so happy to hear that Will and the girls had a great day!

Hooray for a great first day!

We haven't tried on pants/jeans yet--so I'm sure some new jeans are in the future for us too.

Enjoy your weekend,

Joanne

I'm jealous. It does feel pretty good around here though...80.

Believe it or not most of L's stuff fit him from last year and I took care of A when we were in Houston. Took care of that while we were actually where there was shopping besides Walmart.

Kindergarten starts tomorrow for L. I don't know who is more excited me or him. A thinks she gets to go too. That may be where all the tears come from...us trying to get her to leave.

Glad things went well for your kids!

I'm so ready for Fall too. And, I'm glad school is off to a great start.

I would thoroughly enjoy 48 degree weather right about now. Fall, where are you?

It sounds like the kids are off to a fabulous year! We start next week. I'm elated and anxious all at once!!!

Hooray for 1st days! Ours go back September 2nd. Which is good, because it is just now summer here. I decided the same thing about school clothes this year. I only have to buy new jeans for my 11 year old, and even those are going to be 2nd hand for now.

It's always a great sign when they all come home from the first day with smiles on their faces.

Typical Colorado weather. But boy, 48 degrees would be a welcome relief out here in the west! (As long as it didn't stick around too long.)

So summer really is gone.... I saw the bus make a run up the street today, checking the routes - a sure sign they'll be picking up kids in a week or so. And 48 degrees! Wow - we've been in the mid 50's at night, but 48 is pretty chilly.

Our weather has been much cooler here this week. As you know temps during August in Texas are usually over 100. This week we have had lots of rain and our highs have been in the 70's - what a unexpected blessing. :o)

So happy to hear that the kids had a wonderful first day of school. How special that you will have an hour alone everyday with Will before the girls get out.

Hope to hear y'all are doing soon!! Miss ya!

Yeah, big weather swing in Oklahoma last week. We went from 100+ down to 95. Hey, it's August in OK, that is a big swing.

That was some crazy weather last week, wasn't it?!

Okay, I'm not wishing the years away AT ALL - Emma starts preschool next week and I'm a little sad about that! - but it sounds like your kids are at such fun ages. I'm glad I can look forward to that!

I'm behind in blog-reading and blogging, but it looks like I've not missed too much on the Meredith front since you're out a computer. I have to admit, it's kind of relief as my Google Reader is overloaded right now! :) I know you can relate! Anyway, hope you're doing well...
