Cheery

Every time I walk in my kitchen these days a grin spreads over my face when I see this.
The kids and I went to Hobby Lobby the other day and I found the funky vase on clearance for $4. The daisies and the greenery were all on sale too. Grand total: $12

I helped host a reception for all the confirmands at our church back in May and came home with a beautiful, leftover bunch of fresh flowers. They were so cheery that I told John I was going to add a fresh flower fund to our budget and he readily agreed. Practicality won out though. This arrangement is equally cheery and permanent. What is it about flowers and bright colors that stimulate happy feelings?

Don't look too closely at this pic. I don't have spectacular skills when it comes to arranging flowers.

Just a few unrelated things to share:

I finally slept past 5:30AM. In fact, I've slept until almost 7AM the last two mornings. It feels decadent!

We really liked The Karate Kid. I think Jaden Smith is adorable. And talented. Wow. We hope to see Toy Story 3 in the next week or two and then I think our summer movie budget will be depleted!

My girls have been Crafty lately. That's crafty with a capital C. I'll post some pics soon of some of their creations. By the way, did you know that Michael's sells American Girl craft kits and supplies? They have some cute, cute stuff!

I'm getting really excited about the 4th of July! It's my most favorite holiday. This year we're planning a neighborhood block party and it's going to be F-U-N!

I can't remember the last time I blogged four days in a row. I guess I've been feeling rather chatty lately.

Cheerio, peeps.

I can't wait to see Toy Story either! We're going to go in early July after it's been out a few weeks. I also want to take at least N1 (maybe N2) to see Beezus and Ramona when it comes out later this summer. I think she'll love it and it will be a big treat since she's recently read it. : )

I wouldn't have known those flowers weren't real. So pretty! I love that vase!

We love the American Girl crafts @ Michaels. They can be pricey, but they are really cute.

Loved the flowers! I totally thought they were real. I've looking forward to the day I can have flowers (or anything for that matter) on my kitchen table and little hands won't feel compelled to reach out and touch. :)

I think the flowers look great! Our farmer's market has giant sunflowers every summer and I think I'll go buy some on Sat. morning.

We like Karate Kid, but I think we're going to love Toy Story 3. We're hoping to see it Saturday!

Love that funky vase! Your 4th of July posts always make me want to pack up and move to your town, Mer! I was thinking of your past 4th festivities the other day, and I think we're going to try to tie-dye shirts sometime next week. :)

I love Hobby Lobby! Your flowers are so pretty. I think God made flowers just for us (and the bees I suppose!)
