10 on the 10th

I made a swift and executive decision about the 10-on-the-10th last night while I was racking my brain for some kind of list that wouldn't bore both of us. The decision is that this will be the END of 10-on-the-10th.

Honestly, I'm just bored with it. Sure, it's fun, but it's also takes up mental space and time that I could be giving to other things. I may pop in from time to time on the 10th of the month with a post of 10 things, but it won't be a regular thing with a linky.

That being said, here's my list.

10 Nuggets of Wisdom I've Learned in my 40 years

1. Don't procrastinate.

2. You don't have to like everyone.

3. Life isn't fair.

4. Guilt is never a good reason to do anything.

5. I'm stronger than I know.

6. Honesty is always the best policy.

7. As much as I want to be friends with everyone, I can't. I do best with a small few.

8. It really is the little things.

9. Give it away.

10. There is nothing you can ever do to make God love you less, and there is nothing you can ever do to make God love you more.

Wanna add your wisdom to the list?

If you want to link up, you know the drill. I'll be by to read your posts as soon as I can. Today and tomorrow are BUSY!!! It's been fun, y'all.

I'm first! Yes! Redemption!! It is a cute idea but sometimes it's hard to come up with something. How about 3 on the 3rd?? :)

I am a broken record around here: "You don't have to like everyone, you just have to be nice."
It's pure gold I tell you.

My link is up. Not nearly as profound as yours. I can agree on all points you listed. Good stuff.

Simple and yet so true. I wish I could engrave them more deeply into my mind that my actions might always reflect what I *know* to be true.

I'll add to #2. Not everyone will like you, but that's okay. That's a hard one for a people pleaser like me. :) Maybe I can come up with 10 things later, we'll see how the day goes.

I'm bummed to miss the last 10-on-10. I think I will keep "playing," even if it's no longer official. =)

Have to tell you: we watched An Unfinished Life last night. Wow! Thanks for the recommendation.

Forgiveness is sweet.
I'll miss your 10 on the Tenth, but will probably do it myself every now and then, too.
Any snow yet?

*Give it away.*

That's a GREAT nugget.

I've learned all these same things in my 33 years. My favorite is #4, because guilt is a big, and unnecessary, motivator for me. And #7 is a useful one for me. I like my small circle of close friends.

I wish I could have done 10 on the 10th more often!

It is always fun to learn from others. (Also, a whole lot easier than learning things the hard way.)

Hi Meredith...I don't think we've ever officially met, but I'm Lisa Sullivan's sister-in-law, and went to OBU from 1984-1988. I've recently been reading your blog, and have really enjoyed it. Sorry to hear this was your last 10 on the 10th...this was my first! Looking forward to getting to know you better through your blog!

Shoot! I always had good ideas for 10 on the 10th but kept realizing on the 11th that I hadn't posted. You quit because I didn't join in regularly, huh? (Ha ha... I'm kidding. I'm doing some catching up tonight and just read your Twitter post. Thought I'd make this about ME.)

Your blog continues to be one of my faves, Mer... 10 on the 10th or not. :)
