Saturday Confessions

I'm linking up to Melissa's Saturday Confessions this morning. I love Melissa. I know if I still lived in Arkansas, we'd be good friends.

Here's me being confessional:

1. I fed my family sandwiches for dinner last night. I usually save sandwiches for lunchboxes but the truth is I didn't have anything more than sandwiches in me last night. I did try to make them a little more fancy--I called them paninis and made them on the George Foreman grill.

2. After that gourmet meal, I helped John clean up the kitchen then put on my pjs and got in bed. At 7pm. I watched a movie on my laptop before I fell asleep, but I totally ignored my family who were all together in the den watching Disney. I loathe Disney.

3. This week, I had a major conflict with a volunteer project that I'm in charge of and an appointment that I really had to keep. I didn't realize the conflict until two days before. I did something I typically don't like to do and delegated the whole thing to three very capable moms. Sometimes I delegate, but when I do I don't think I ever fully release things. I turned a corner this week and did both. It was a HUGE help and those moms handled it beautifully.

4. My house is a disaster. I'm not even kidding. This week has thrown a few curveballs my way and between dodging those and the general BUSYness of this time of year the house has fallen apart. Of course (and you all probably would agree) it doesn't take much for things to fall apart quickly. Housekeeping is a daily affair.

5. I am feeling very restless and unsatisfied with some things in my life right now. So is John. We had a really great lunch conversation about all of this earlier in the week. I don't know that we walked away with a lot of answers but just acknowledging our feelings and realizing that we're both in the same place felt huge.

6. I love my husband! I've had to depend on him for some big things this week and he has been nothing short of amazing.

7. I am pea green with envy over all my friends who are in Little Rock this weekend to see Beth Moore. PEA GREEN WITH ENVY. I think half of my Arkansas friends were there last night based on their Facebook statuses.

8. Speaking of Facebook--I am totally annoyed with it lately. For lots of reasons. That could probably be an entire post for another day.

9. Happy Saturday! My family is heading out later to do some Easter outfit shopping. That will probably involve a trip to the mall and if you know me, you know I despise that place. I feel my attitude sliding south even now. Oh brother. I'm going to try to be positive for the sake of my family! Wish me luck.

Hi Meredith, found you through Melissa's link-up (I haven't linked up this week :). Noticed you live in CO--we live here as well! Love finding "local" bloggers. Your camping pics from last summer were great--we love camping, too, and are still learning so much. I, too, am a transplant (grew up in MO, so not quite so southern, but certainly considered southern by most folks).

Sending you a cyber hug, friend.
Hope your weekend is full of unexpected blessings (like not having to go to the mall)

I'm not gonna lie, Mer. You sound a bit grumpy this morning! :) But guess what? I am too. I'm right there with you. I wish you lived right down the street (instead of just down the highway). I'd come whisk you away for a little coffee (hot chocolate) date.

I'm eager to hear more about what's going on with you. Missing you and praying for you, friend!

If the grilled cheese sandwich has meat or any cheese, other than American, or if it is made with anything other than white balloon bread, then it totally qualifies as a panini! (and I have spelled that 3 ways now and none of them look right)

I wandered over from Melissa's Confessions. I want to write a post but I may give up and go curl up with a book

I gave up facebook for Lent, and I've got to say I feel richly blessed. I'm not sure if I'll reactivate my account after Easter is over or not. It's been a peaceful, unirritating, and drama free Lenten season. Have a blessed weekend!

I'm hoping that the shopping trip was very fruitful for your family! Sometimes you need the night or time were you are in your own little area for a time. However I love Disney...it basically keeps me and my son sane during the "hard" times.

so glad I'm not the only one with a disaster of a house. Yep, totally GET being annoyed with fb. Thanks for reminding me about Easter. Got to get on it!

Number 1- if the sandwich was grilled than it TOTALLY qualifies as dinner. totally.
Number 2- I know you have had some big stuff going on in your life. I know that housework has probably been on the bottom of your to do list, and that a messy house is really annoying (It makes me grouchy), but you have to believe me when I say that house work is a little stuff and you are not supposed to sweat the little stuff.
Number 3- I feel you with the mall. HATE. IT. I got to go to my favorite kind of stores today with my family. We went Thrift store hopping- a true treasure hunt, but alas, we came away without what we were looking for.
Number 4- Remember that God is in control and we are not. He loves you and has your best interests in mind.

I hope I don't sound ugly, but I was glad to read this post. You seem so very organized ALL the time, I'm glad to find out you are human!!! Love you.

Sandwiches...more work than when I fix eggs and toast for supper. Messy house? Just say you are doing your spring cleaning. And Summer's coming and it's been really nice weather here. And I so don't like Disney anymore.

Wait...sandwiches aren't viable meal options? ;) Around here, as long as we're eating together, cereal (cold!) is a meal alternative. I won't tell the kids that other moms have it together in the kitchen on a more regular basis than I. :) I, too, am jealous right along with you about the Beth Moore girlies. hmph.

Sorry you had such a tough week! Hope the trip to the mall went well- I am not a big fan either! Our quick dinner is quesadillas which is pretty much like sandwiches so you are good!

We had chili dog night last night and it was canned chili! lol I was too exhausted to even think about supper. I will admit, Beth Moore was amazing. I cried during the entire singing/praise music. Hope you have a wonderful week and I so love your blog! It is real and helps this pastor's wife! =)
