SMP 1.21.14

SMP = Seven Minute Post

How is it already January 21? This month sure seems to be flying by. I'm not complaining. The faster it goes, the closer we get to spring break. I'm already ready for another extended school break.

Our three day weekend was lovely. I keep thinking today is Monday though. I have a feeling I'm not alone.

Yesterday I got together with two of my friends from high school. One of them visits her in-laws in Denver every January so we have a yearly "catch-up". The other friend moved to Colorado last year and so we invited her to join us! I love having friends that you can just pick up with no matter how much time has passed since you've seen them. I think it had been twenty years since I'd last seen Melissa but we didn't miss a beat. It was such a great day and I enjoyed it so much.
[Pretend I just made a witty segue from friendship to television]

I need a new television series to watch now that football is {basically} over. I blew through two seasons of Scandal on Netflix in record time and I'm considering The Black List. Other suggestions? Besides Parenthood, Downton Abbey, Mad Men, Revenge, Nashville? I already watch those. Television is how I unwind at night. And I can't stay awake long enough to watch a movie; a 25-45 minute program is more my speed. Fire away.

Just started watching "New Girl" while I exercise. Husband has "House of Cards" going I think.

The Good Wife. Seasons 1-4 are on Netflix. If you like Scandal and Parenthood, The Good Wife has just enough edge and family dynamics to make it similar to those and just as addicting!

Also, I'm making your chicken tacos you shared the recipe for in your last post. The house smells great!

Oooooh, I love Zoey Deschanel! Good suggestion!!! I'll look into House of Cards as well. Thank you, Sarah.

Did you intentionally coordinate your shirt with the restaurant's tablecloths? =)

Nice, Elizabeth! I'll check into The Good Wife!

I have another recipe for you to use the other 1/2 bottle of Lawry's! Stay tuned. And FYI, I bought the Kroger brand marinade last time (($2 cheaper) and it was just as great. Tuck that nugget away!

Ha ha, Carrie. That's what my observant daughter pointed out!

My sister-in-law recently told me I needed to watch "The Mindy Project". I haven't done it yet, but you may want to check it out.

I will look into that too, Michele! Because I'm a tv junkie

It was so great to see you! There is just never enough time to cover every subject, though :)

I concur with "The Good Wife" recommendation - it is one of my favorites! I think you already have all my other favs covered. Oh, wait, there are some dramas on USA that I enjoy - White Collar, Royal Pains, Covert Affairs, & Suits. And "The Mentalist", too. I obviously watch way to much TV...
