Ready or Not

I'm not sure I'm ready for this...

We woke up to snow this morning. When we left for church this morning we had about 3-4 inches on the ground. When we returned, we had 3-4 additional inches. It stopped snowing about 10 minutes ago, and we can finally see the mountains behind our house...and a few rays of sunshine too. Yay!

I have a love-hate relationship with snow. I love it most of the time. I love watching it fall. I love how clean and white and pretty it makes things look. I love being inside on snowy days and making soup or baking cookies with my kids. And I even love playing in it.

What I don't love is how long our snow season lasts. It starts in October and lasts until May. Seven long months of snow. It snowed on my kids last day of school...May 23. I'm usually tired of it by February. And I get tired of my car being dirty, my floors being dirty, and all of our shoes being dirty. I don't like driving in it either.

Looks like snow season is here...ready or not.

Happy Sunday!

LOL You know, even with having lived a large portion of my life in areas where there's snow from October to May, I have to agree with you. It does loose its fun and appeal after a couple of months. Although (and I think I've mentioned this a time or two) anytime you want to trade, just say the word and we can switch houses/states/climates! ;) The kids seem to be enjoying the snow though. And just think how beautiful the mountains will be once it's sunny ~ the snow always makes the mountains simply gorgeous.

Well, it was 80 degrees, sunny with strong winds here in Chicago today. As I drove on Lake Shore Drive this afternoon, I saw a number of sunbathers in their swimsuits on the beach. So what if we have to dodge a few bullets? Yes, a tailor-made autumn Sunday! :-)

Whew--I'm not sure I'm ready for that, either! I talked to my parents yesterday and it sounds like Saturday was warm and sunny. That is so Colorado!

I'm actually surprised we haven't yet had our first snow, but I'm not complaining! =)

We're having unusually warm weather also. Today my guys don't even need jackets outside and the neighbor has on shorts. Very odd. We're usually bundled in jackets by now. But I'm enjoying it because I know I'm going to be sick of the cold and dreary muck that Feb. and March are in New England. At least the snow covers the muck.

Already? It was 90 degrees here on Saturday. Your snow is so beautiful! My kids would go crazy to see snow.

Beautiful pictures, Mer. 7 months of snow would be more than enough for me too. Bet it takes more than a little snow for the schools to close too.

I just returned from visiting Mom in NC over fall break. Torrential blinding rain during round trip travel.
