The Weatherman (Really) Missed It!

I watched the 10 o'clock news last night and the weatherman said that snow was in the forecast, but we'd likely only get an inch.

Well, it's been snowing non-stop since I woke up at 6:30 this morning.

This is what it looked like at when we were driving home from church at 11am...

Our church has big windows that look out at the mountains, and I watched the snow fall throughout the entire service. The crowd was slim this morning too. We thought about staying in, but I didn't want to miss the first Sunday in Advent! The snow made it extra beautiful!

This is the snow in our driveway.

Quite a bit more than an inch, huh?
That was an hour ago...and it's STILL COMING DOWN!  So glad we're in for the afternoon!  The kids are hoping for a snow day tomorrow...but I don't know.  Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 50s.

We're heading out to play in it!  Enjoy your afternoon!

*UPDATE--The news at 6pm reported 14.5 inches of snow in my town. I believe it. John shoveled the driveway twice today and he'll have to again in the morning. Poor Jack. The snow was pretty deep for him...but he loved playing in it!*

Oh my gosh! All that snow! And your children are just adorable.

I'm a little scared because the weatherman has been assuring us all day that even though we MIGHT get some snow, it won't amount to anything and we probably won't get any at all. That's when we really get slammmed!

Oh my goodness...now that's some snow... I don't think I've seen that much snow since I was young....

I hope we get some this year...

Remember when we were at Captivating and I went into the snow to take a picture for the kids and sank down to my knees and Kathleen had to come and get me out...and she got stuck too...

That was the most snow I had ever seen!

Good times!!!

As I was reading this post, my husband asked if I'd like to go somewhere for a year (for his work) where there was lots of snow. I showed him your pictures and said "Yes! If I can live near Meredith!" haha

I know this may be sacrilege to some, but I'll go ahead and pray for a snow day for your wee ones. After all...He can always say "no". Good luck getting to DIA, though. Praying for you.

Looks like fun!!! We've had a 40% chance of snow for over a week. So far nothing. Nada. Nilch. This morning we had a little sleet mixed with our rain. That's a step in the right direction. Will keeps asking to see the forecast. Poor guy, hope lives anew each day.

That's a ton of snow. I love those kind of days - just hanging around the house watching it come down. That picture of your dog is hilarious!

I am still trying to convince my kids that just because tommorrow is Dec 1 does NOT mean there will be any snow. It snows here in January. Once. Of course last year....

I LOVE these pictures of the snow and can just picture you and your peeps all cozy in your house. I will come back to these pictures to "cool off" as we are in the dog days of summer here in southern Africa.

It is snowing here this morning in Ga., but of course, we do not get 14 inches! We are lucky to get an inch. It is still pretty though.

With all that snow I'm surprised that John wouldn't get a snow day too. On the other hand, folk from Colorado are more used to it and probably tougher that those of us from the South.

The snow is beautiful! Maybe you can send some our way...my family would love it!

Christmas decorating didn't happen yesterday, but is scheduled for tonight...I'll let you know how it goes! :)

I'm so glad that you have gotten some good news about your dad...I'll continue to keep him in my prayers.

Wow!! Look at all that snow! We were in Spokane over the holiday and the weatherman got it wrong there too... it was supposed to be clear and sunny the whole time so we didn't bring the kids snow clothes. It ended up snowing all afternoon on Thanksgiving and Friday too. Poor weathermen!

We drove home on Sunday in the worst weather I have ever seen. We witnessed many wrecks and the stretch from Raton to Clayton was awhite out blizzard that had us going 20 miles an hour for 2 hours. No fun! Next time I'm in your neck of the woods we are hooking up! Hope your trip to St. Louis goes well.

Wow look at that amazing snow! I am not sure I have ever seen that much snow in person before. I love the picture of the kids! The one of Jack is so cute - can't see those paws. :o)
