Anniversary Week: Giveaway #3

Anniversary Week continues and I hope you're having fun because I sure am!

I absolutely love this ribbon plate that Jillian gave me earlier this year.

The one I have is from Southern Living at Home, but sadly it has been discontinued. However, I found a similar version at Michael's and that's what I'm giving away today!

Leave me a comment and tell me something(s) you're thankful for.

Today, I'm thankful for these three kiddos. John and I are crazy about them!

I'm also thankful for my husband who works hard so that I can stay at home, and for new SmartWool socks! I got some fun ones the other day--they make me smile AND they keep my feet super warm!!!

Here are links to some ways I've decorated my plate:
I usually use Sharpies or my ZIG markers. Just test an area first to make sure it comes off--sometimes I have to really scrub.

Anyway, the possibilities are as vast as your imagination. And I suppose you could use it as a serving piece as well!

So tell me what you're thankful for today and maybe you'll be the lucky winner of this giveaway!

The fine print: Giveaway will close at 10pm on Saturday, October 31. Winners will be chosen at random and posted on Sunday, November 1. Contest is open to US and international residents. You don't have to have a blog to enter, but you must leave a way to be contacted should you win.

Well, my first thought is that I'm thankful for this blog that you write. I really enjoy reading it! Thank you! And I'm thankful I can stay home with my kids so that I can go on fun field trips. Today we are going to the Shedd Aquarium. And I am thankful that my husband will go to Kindergarten coffee and cookies today for our little one since I will be at the aquarium. LOTS to be thankful for!

These are amazing giveaways, Mer.

I'm thankful for our health. Given the surgery that D just went through, and all the swine flu madness and my friends who are sick or have sick family members--health is just not to be taken for granted. I need to switch this gratitude into better self care. Baby steps. ;)

Oh man!! I'm dying for a plate like that!!! More than anything in this world, I am thankful for Jesus and the gift of eternal life. I am also thankful for a godly husband, three healthy children, a home the Lord blessed us with and a great church family. The list goes on and on.

Again...it's SO hard for me to pick just one thing when there are SO many things to be thankful for!

I'm thankful for my God who loves me unconditionally, Who never leaves me, Who saved me from myself, Who blesses me lavishly.

I'm thankful for family and good friends who love me just the way I am, who take the good and forgive the bad.

I'm thankful that I already HAVE the Southern Living plate that you have, so if I win I can pass it along to someone in "need"!! Hmmm....who should I pick?

Question for you...I use dry erase markers, do you use just regular old Sharpies on yours? Cause I NEED different colors than what I have. Oh and BTW, our plates almost look identical with their fall ribbon & I have "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!" Phil. 4:4 written on mine right now!

I don't know if there's a big enough space to write all that I'm thankful for.

I'm most thankful that I'm 6 1/2 years cancer-free so that my kids can still have a mommy. Also that my police officer husband has come home safe and sound from work for the past 9 years and 10 months.

I'm thankful that each of my kids has their own bedroom and that we have a warm house for them full of books and love.

I'm blessed that even on the roughest days (my son has Asperger's) I get to stay home with my kids and am grateful that my parents are both alive as well so that they can build memories with them.

Starting to become grateful to Beth Moore as I'm in the middle of Esther, my first of her bible studies that is teaching me so much more than I'd ever imagined. Hoping to pass on to my children to seek God's wisdom while they are still young.

And of course I smile every time one of your blogs pops up in my feed, because they are always insightful.

Even through trying times I am thankful for my family, our health, and love. This year has been a struggle but I am thankful that God provides for us. I am also thankful for the internet. LOL Seriously because I have learned to coupon to feed our family of five for far less, I've learned to dress and shop in a frugal but stylish way, and I've learned to decorate for less! I'm also thankful that the world of blogs has led this southern gal from Florida to having an online friend in Colorado! :)

Thanks Mer!

What a great plate.
I am going to give Thanks here fo rwhat I am most thankful for TODAY.
I am thankful to God for giving me my best friend. We have been friends for 34 years. She called me on the phone this morning and after talking a few minutes she ordered me out of the house. She told me to fix my hair, put on some make-up, get in the car, and go run some errands. She knew that I had not left the house since last Tuesday other than to get the mail.
And although I only ran household errands, I had a perfectly wonderful day.
It was great to be out in the fresh air, and visit with people that I encountered.
So, thank-you God for my friend.

As mentioned by lots of others before me - that plate is so cool, and I've been eyeing yours for a LONG time wishin' for my own!

I've been working extra hard to be thankful - something that doesn't come naturally for me so this will be a good exercise!

1) that our children want to play w/each other all the time
2) they all three have sweet, tender hearts
3) that I have a wonderfully rugged man for a husband, and that makes me feel extra protected and provided for. (plus, if the economy ever goes completely bottoms-up, I figure he can go out and shoot our dinner!)
4) the wonderfully cool weather after record number of 100-degree days!!! - see even my thankfulness is tinged w/a little negativity - oops!!

okay, I have a funny request......

I have one of these plates. The Southern Living one, just like yours, except I never use it because I don't have darling ribbons to go in it.

But I want to start using it, because oh my goodness, how cute is yours.

So here is my request: Would you mind, the next time you are in a craft store (since I don't have a craft store here in the bush ;-)) picking me up a few different seasonal colored lengths of ribbon.

I'll send you money for them and postage!!!

I am thankful that I have warm clothes!!

Oh! Mer, ever since you blogged about this plate before, I have been looking for a similar one - I absolutely LOVE it.

Right this second I am thankful for the fact that at a flip of a switch, we can have lovely heat flowing through our house. I was sitting here earlier watching snow come down (In New Mexico! In October!) and I was so thankful. Of course it doesn't compare to the piles of snow that you have, but still.. :)
