T.G.I.F.

Our company just left...

They were here 5 days and 5 nights. I have so much to say about their visit, but I'm feeling a little whine-y and complain-y at the moment, so I'll refrain from sharing all that here. I'm choosing to be joyful right now (I have my house back--yay!), and will probably be glad later that I don't have to go back and delete this post.

I am so happy that it's Friday. I'm so happy that I don't even care that it's snowing...AGAIN! The kids didn't end up having school yesterday after all, and they have a 2-hour delay this morning. They're home with me for another hour this morning and they're all playing together nicely. I am very thankful. It's been a long week.

I'm SO looking forward to pizza and a movie tonight. It's our Friday night tradition. Anyone have a good movie recommendation? I'm going to stop by the video store later.

We're watching The Ultimate Gift--have only seen 30 minutes of it, but it looks good! Also, we did like The Neverending Story, as a family.

No matter how much you love your house guests (or hosts, for that matter) any visit that goes beyond 3 nights is just too long! = ) Not that I'd know anything about that.

The only movies we've seen lately are Enchanted, The Bee Movie and Alvin and the Chipmunks. Quality. :)

Enjoy your Friday!

My daughter (9) enjoyed Alvin and the Chipmunks. For some reason she watched it at school today.

I love family movie night! I hope you all have a great time. Do you eat the pizza before you watch the movie or while you watch the movie? My husband and I have debated this for years. I think it's better to eat then watch the movie, but he thinks you should do it all at the same time.

have fun with your fam tonight...i am attending a rehearsal dinner and bachelorette party (sounds wild, but we're not "party girls").

anyway, company is fun to have and I hope after you're rested, you remember only the best parts.

Have fun, Mer. I have Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on hand to watch BUT my TV got fried during the latest round of T storms so movieless until I can get it replaced.

I love having company, but I love having my house back almost even more! Enjoy your quiet weekend with just your family!!

We have liked Nancy Drew, and Alvin and The Chipmunks lately. We also watched The Waterhorse, but it was alittle too intense for my 5yo.

Oooh, I want to know if you eat at the same time you watch movies, too! It might be fun to do simultaneously but with toddlers, NOT GONNA HAPPEN! The day they have red tomato sauce in my living room is the day I'm no longer a functioning mother.

P.S. Just came from John's blog...my hubby and I were reading his last several posts and were in stitches. It was fun and hilarious reading!

Toootally understand the need for a lowkey night. I just got back from a long day of flying from Savannah, so I believe my family is going to have pan popped popcorn and homemade smoothies. Then...bed by 8 because we need to get back into this zone (didn't help that we had to get up at 1 a.m. Seattle time to fly home).

It was great fun, but I'm so looking forward to being in my own nest! xxxooogretchen

hello. thanks for visiting my blog. we loved colorado. i'm a cold weather kind of gal and i still remember our first snow after we moved from texas, it was absolutely fantastic, and was really a blizzard. so now suffering through 100+ degree weather and limited aircon isn't my favorite. but the temps aren't all that different from summer in texas.

and after 5 yrs in colorado i'd pretty much gotten the hang of cooking at high altitude. so now i burn everything at low altitude over propane gas.

so much adjusting to do. but it will come.

good luck with your pike's peak climb. i'd always intended to do that, but never got around to it. however, my husband climbed with our son for our son's 13th birthday. they made an early summer ascent - not the best laid plan. but they did it!

now, i'm off to read the best of your blog.

How's the weekend unfolding? I hope that the snow has finally made it's exit!
