A couple of things...

First of all, thank you for praying for my friend, Joanne Heim.  All I know this morning is that she is resting in ICU and her family is just in wait mode. She still desperately needs your prayers. Many of you have asked how to stay updated on her progress. My best suggestions are to keep checking Joanne's blog, Janna's blog, or if you use Twitter, you can follow her husband: tobenheim He's updating when he can.

It seems almost impossible to not let Joanne's situation give perspective to our daily lives.

Hug your kids.

Kiss your husband.

Apologize when you're wrong.

Say "I Love You". And say it often.

Focus on the things that really matter. (Note to self: A perfectly clean house, other people's bad behavior, blog templates and the iPhone 4 don't qualify as things that really matter).

I think you guys can take it from here...

I was just thinking about perspective, actually. You make a good point!

This past week has been extremely stressful for me - exam week! Um, but not for me ... my daughter. Her LACK of stress is what has ME stressed, though. Ugh!

Anyway, I've had a short fuse with everyone lately because of this, and I'm ashamed. Your friend's tragic situation has put things in perspective.

Today's a great day to start focusing on what really matters in our lives - our family and friends. Each day we're blessed with is a gift. We are never promised tomorrow. Oh, this reminds me of my favorite quote:

"Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift ...
That's why it's called the present!"

Your friend and her family remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Love your new blog look.

Still praying for Joanne. I just kept thinking the same thing all day yesterday(even before I read your blog) FRAGILE FRAGILE FRAGILE. Life is so precious and fragile.

I still can't get it through my head, how a young, fit, mom has a stroke. She woke up - had a normal morning, and in a matter of seconds her whole life changed.

I want to live my life so I have no regrets. I want to have fun, smile, laugh, feel joy, not stress about the dumb things. I want to enjoy my kids and their laughter and silly ways. I want to play with them more. Her situation has caused me to want change and think of ways to start living differently.

Still praying.....

Within a few hours of hearing the news, I had said some words to some people that needed to be said.

My perspective has certainly been righted this week.

Can't get her off of my mind. I've been praying and will continue to do so...
Praying for your peace, too, as her friend.

(P.S. Love your new layout.. *smile*)

You are so right, Meredith. So, so right. Life is so fragile. I have prayed several times today for her. Praying for one of God's miracles for her and her family!

I really like your new blog look! I love the second pair of feet. I have a picture of my Maggie's feet that are very similar. She has size 10 NARROW feet with the longest toes. Absolutely lovely to me.
I have thought of Joanne so many times today. You really hit the nail on the head with your "one word"...FRAGILE. Oh life is so fragile and we act as if we are immune to that fragility (not speaking for Joanne....just my own self). Anyway...I'm praying Joanne has a full recovery. She is just such a breath of fresh air.

yes, a kiss, a hug and apology (something that I needed to hear this morning) are the important parts of life.
