For my Colorado friends...and those of you who wanna live here too!

I think this is so funny.

According to Jeff Foxworthy, you're a Coloradoan if...

You switch from "Heat" to "A/C" in one day.

You know what the "Peoples Republic of Boulder" means.

Your sense of direction is: towards the mountains and away from the mountains.

You're a meat-eating vegetarian.

The bike on your car is worth more than your car and you have your own special bike lane

You're able to drive 65 miles per hour through 13 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without even flinching.

You design your kid's Halloween costumes to fit over a snowsuit.

You think that sexy lingerie is wool socks and flannel PJs.

You know all 4 seasons "almost winter, winter, still winter and spring blizzards

You can never figure out why your out-of-town guests faint from altitude sickness on a picnic to the mountains.

You can drive over a 12,000 foot pass in 4 feet of snow, but can't get to work if there are 4 inches of snow.

You know the 'correct' pronunciation of Buena Vista.

Your car insurance costs more than your car.

You have surge protectors on every outlet.

April showers bring May blizzards.

'Timberline' is someplace you have actually been.

Your golf bag has a 9-iron, a 3-wood and a lightning rod.

SPF 90 is not out of the question.

People from out of state breathe 5 times as often as you do.

Thunder has set off your car alarm.

You can recognize the license plates of all 50 states on sight.

Driving directions usually include 'Go over _________ Pass.'

You've 'checked for ticks'

You've dressed in shorts, sandals, and a parka w/a hood.

You've gone snow skiing in July and...

You've gone sunbathing in January and...

They were in the same year!

Hilarious, don't you think? And if you need more, email me for the unedited list. :)

I'm sure this is hilarious, having never been to CO I'll have to take your word for it. = )

I do believe our states have a few things in common. I think it can be best summed up with -- snow and winter.

Oh. And flannel.

So funny, and after my 23 year tenure in the state, so true! I remember on my b'day (in the People's Republic of Boulder, where I went to school and married), CU was closed for a snow day! This was unheard of. In fact, it was my 21st b'day, and let's just say that Pearl Street Mall was not the partying atmosphere I had hoped it would be for turning 21.

The week previously (Feb), we were playing volleyball in 70 degree weather--sporting sunburns, of course.

And the mountains for directions thing: so true. However, now that I'm in a place that a)has 2 mtn ranges and b)they are usually covered with clouds anyway, I'm all messed up with directions.

Mer,

I disagree--true Coloradans don't have A/C! =)

This was fun to read; I can say a lot of them apply. Amen on the correct pronunciation of Buena Vista. I always cringe when I hear that and other locations (Cache la Poudre comes to mind) said incorrectly!

This is hysterical, Mer. This is exactly what it's like to live here.

I have no idea why I always think I'm going to have at least month when I don't have to run heat or a/c - it's true. One day the heat goes off...the next, we close up the house again and get the a/c going. LOL

And he's dead right about the Halloween costumes. I can't remember the last time it didn't snow on Halloween night.

This is too fun.

Haha! That was great. The only thing that has remained the same since leaving Co was the sexy lingerie are wool socks and flannels PJs.

I think I better stay in Arkansas - I know CO is beautiful - but I don't think I would fit in. :-) Mostly because I hate cold and nothing about me is outdoorsy (unless laying out on a beach counts!)

Oh how funny! I hear ya on the pronounciation thing. Listen to anyone say Kissimmee Florida and I cringe.....it's not Kiss-a-me! LOL
