Favorites Party!

favorites-party

I intended to play along with Kim's Favorites Party during the entire month of December, but I got off track when I was out of town. I'm back in this week though! She asked us to share our favorite Christmas traditions. (You know you want to join in on the fun too!)

Truth be told, I have a hard time choosing just one favorite but our annual trip to the North Pole in Colorado Springs is pretty hard to beat. We've been going for several years now, and it's such a fun day.

Here are some pics from our trip last Friday.
I took this picture while riding the ride pictured below.

Is that not a GREAT Santa? I love the looks on their faces in this picture.

Not only is there a fun mailbox for kids to leave their letters to Santa in, but there is a post office at the North Pole. If I'd had my Christmas cards ready to mail, I would have loved for them to have been postmarked "North Pole, CO". I hope to remember that for next year.

I bought a photo like this of the three of them with Santa for our family photo album. I also bought an ornament for each of them with a pic of them alone with Santa. They're hanging on the tree next to the ornaments from previous year's visits.

This ride is my least favorite...and this was the first year I didn't have to ride it with Abbey. I was thankful!

Oh...you know those ads you see over there on my right sidebar? Well, thank you for viewing them when you visit here. The money I've made from having that advertising on my blog paid for our trip to the North Pole. Sweet, huh?

Be sure to check out Kim's blog for more great Christmas tradition favorites!

I can tell y'all had a great time. I'll bet it's a bit airish on those rides! ;o)

It's a bit airish here right now too. It's 21F headed down to 17F for the low, with over 3 inches of ice, sleet and snow on the ground; mostly sleet. The wind is gusting to over 30 mph at times, so it's a cold night in NE Arkansas tonight!

Merry Christmas, Mer. :o)

Much love,

Diane

Mer,

You made me nostalgic again this year with those pix. =(

Thanks also for sending that photo and specifics--I hope to do something similar.

Oh I remember riding the Candy Cane Coaster over and over and over again with my sister and Robbie and Nichole Nordeman one year while our moms watched and chatted.

Thanks for the fun memory!

I've only been to the North Pole once with my kids and they were liiiiiittle, but it was great.

Brave woman to take a pic whilst spinning to infinity and beyond. ;)

What a lovely favorite. Noticing how much Will favors his mom. Very handsome.

I've always wanted to do something like this! Looks like great Christmas fun!

Did you ever mail anything from Romance, AR? Kind of a fun idea, but I like the North Pole idea even better:)

Wish we had something like that here...That looks like so much fun.

The kids are growing up so fast...I still think of Abby as being a little 3 yr old.

Okay, my stomach just lurched at the sight of the Tilt-A-Whirl. Looks like you had a lot of fun!!

I read the other post about the burning and plate smashing in your back yard. Somehow I missed all that the first time 'round. I'm so sorry! But I also know that Jesus can redeem everything, including your feelings about your house!!

What fun! I'm such a sucker for an amusement park, so I would be all over that!!! :)

How fun. I can't wait to be able to take Grace there. Maybe next year. Only I'd have to keep my feet on the ground. Me and rides don't do well, nor the people around me ;)

What a neat place! Makes me wish I could take my kids to the "North Pole". No such thing here in the South! Too bad! :) Look like you made wonderful memories! What a cute Santa...so much better than most mall Santas!

Looks like a fun day! My dad went there as a boy, on our trip we would see it in the distance on our way from CS to Divide he would talk about it. What a great Santa!!

Glad to hear the ads are working out for you. Question - so for you to get paid on them we have to click on the ads? If so I will start clicking on them for ya! :o)
