Today has been palmy but definitely not balmy...

(Sorry for the kitschy title.)

Many of you know today is Palm Sunday.

I was very happy when the greeter handed me a palm frond this morning as I walked into church.

My heart was a teensy bit sad to celebrate Palm Sunday differently today than we have for the last several years. Typically, we'd gather outside of church, read some scripture, then all walk into the sanctuary together singing hosanna! and waving our palm branches.

Our pastors did something creative so my sadness was fleeting. And it was probably best we didn't gather outside because it FREEZING and still snowy from yesterday's winter storm.

This was the view from my front door this morning.

See why we stayed inside all day yesterday??? (I think we ended up with 8 inches of snow and drifts up to 3 feet!)

And here are some pics I took while driving to church. It look so pretty doesn't it?

Here, let me zoom in on that temperature sign for ya.

Brrrrrr....

I had planned to unplug this week. And then I realized that I started this 10 on the 10th thing and the tenth of April happens to fall on Good Friday, which falls during my week of being unplugged. A dilemna. Hmmmmmmm...

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about that. Maybe work on it tonight so it will auto-post? Or maybe just skip this month? Or maybe do a late edition? An Easter edition? Any ideas?

Honestly, I can't completely unplug because of my ongoing project, but I am definitely taking a break from blogging/reading blogs/Facebook/Twitter. I know it will be hard, but I also know it will be good.

So...

I guess this is good-bye until next week. *sniff sniff*

(Oh, and it just started snowing again and Sarah's been singing, "I'm dreaming of a white Easter." I wouldn't be surprised. It's sorta the norm where we live.)

Enjoy your week, Meredith. We'll still be here when you get back. Blessings on you and your family as you celebrate together.

A White Easter, indeed. I don't remember it being this snowy for quite a while.

We had a great PS service. No fronds (what a loverly idea), but great tunes and lots of hosannas. I was a little embarrassed that I started to cry during one of the choir songs. Hard to keep your mouth open with sound coming out when that happens. But...it's all good.

I'll miss you and look forward to your return! xxxooo

Meredith,
Thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog. I'm a newbie blogger so you were my first "real" comment (besides my daughter) and I was stupidly giddy about it!
Your blog is always thought provoking and is one of the first blogs I ever read because we visit Denver frequently and it's always interesting to read about your experiences in Colorado.

So clever with that title! It made me smile!

Sorry you have all the snow to still contend with. Enjoy your week off, though. Unplugging has really helped me to keep my priorities straight these days. Enjoy the time off. :)

Have a wonderful week, Meredith. We'll miss you, but you (and your family) deserve the break. The view from your front door is beautiful. You'll have to do that again when it isn't covered in snow!

Enjoy your Easter!

Brrr...I'm tired of this weather. Thankful for moisture, but tired of the cold and wind. Enjoy your week unplugged!

Okay, I get your desire to unplug. But you can't start a phenomenon and then leave us high and dry! I've already got TWO lists for my 10 on the 10th! I've been looking forward to actually having something with a purpose to post. Please, at least auto post so I can have a life while you try to regain yours!

I'm too excited to get up there and settle to be phased about the snow pictures!
Yes, we've had our share of Easter snows here. Even made a snowman with food-coloring snowballs one year when it snowed a foot.
Have a great week off.
God bless

I say auto-post. I was looking forward to participating in this edition of 10 on the 10th.

Have a great week.

I'll miss you, my blogging friend, :( but totally understand!

Enjoy this week. I hope it's a time of renewal as we celebrate Our Savior who conquered the grave for us and made us "white as snow"!

It isn't normal where we are, but we have had snow showers this evening. Yesterday it was 74 degrees, this evening 34!! Good grief!

I hope you enjoyed your week of being unplugged - good for you.

I think it would be fine if you just postponed the 10 on the 10th - that might be easier on you. Whatever you decide will be fine with us! :)

Not sure how I missed this post. We missed Palm Sunday because it was hijacked by the virus...

What an awesome way to celebrate..we've never been a part of a creative service like that and that's like a love language to me!!

That snow!!!!! Seriously, and y'all had church? The WORLD would stop here for that...it's so funny to me!

Hopefully, some springtime is in your near future!
