Fun Mom Friday: Watermelon, Anyone?

I came across this recipe for watermelon cookies this week and knew immediately that Sarah and Abbey would LOVE to make some.

Didn't they turn out cute? They were as yummy as they look, and surprisingly they didn't taste a thing like watermelon!

I have to admit that baking with my kids isn't one of my favorite things. But you know what? They love it. They chatter and smile the entire time and that makes me happy!

I grew up eating and making these EXACT cookies every summer. I have never seen anyone else make them before! Good memories...thx for all your recent blog feedback! I'm loving all my new blog friends.

Those cookies are absolutely adorable--as are your girls! That is such a fun project to do in the summer. I will have to try it! What kind of frosting did you use?

The recipe uses powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. We tinted ours with some bright green Wilton paste.

You are so fun!!! How cute! I love these. We'll have to make them soon.

Your girls would enjoy making the sugar cookies that look like candy corn this fall - a little more labor intensive - but cute!

Love Abbey's shirt - adorable!

I have to work hard sometimes to include my kids in the kitchen. Most times I just want to get done and get out of there. But my daughter loves it so much. We've started letting her plan one meal a month and it has to be something she can do with very little help. She has come a long way...I just need to relax and let her go a little more. Your cookies look really cute!

Starring this one. I think they'd be cute for a Labor Day cookout.
