10 on the 10th!

I caved to the pressure (you guys know who you are) and decided not to disrupt this 10 on the 10th thing I started. So...here is my list of ten things:

My All-Time Favorite Books
1. Plainsong by Kent Haruf  (John and saw the play last spring and loved it!)

2. The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton

3. Peace Like A River by Leif Enger. Enger's writing is beautiful. I can't say enough about how much I adore this book.

4. Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller

5. The Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy. Mrs. Annie Lee Parker, my high school English teacher introduced me to Thomas Hardy and I've been a fan ever since.

6. Girl Meets God by Lauren Winner

7. Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner

8. A Year By the Sea by Joan Anderson

9. The Jesus Storybook Bible. If you have children and don't own this, I highly advise you to buy it...the stories are written equisitely and the illustrations are equally beautiful. I love reading out of this one for family devotions!

10. A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains by Isabella Bird. Miss Bird shares my deep affection for the Rocky Mountains, and specifically Estes Park.

There is one more book that should be on this list, but I can't find my copy. If I've loaned you The Sacred Romance by Brent Curtis and John Eldredge, please let me know. I've looked everywhere for my book!

Please feel free to join in with your list of ten things (it can be ANYTHING you choose) and add your post to Mister Linky below. The more the merrier, so link away!

A couple of things to mention. Feel free to copy the cute 10 on the 10th button and use it in your post. If you're new to Mister Linky, please be aware that you need to enter the url of your 10 on the 10th post and NOT the url to your blog. If you click on the title or date of your post, the complete url should appear in your browser window and you can cut/copy and paste it in the box below. Type your name as you wish it to appear in the list of links. I usually type LifeAt7000Feet in place of my actual name. If you have questions, leave me a comment and I'll try to help you as best I can.

Just for the record, I wasn't one of the pressure people, even though I'm the first one to link and comment. I'm just trying to do things ahead of time for once in my life.

I wish you could see my list of books that I want to read. And now I have 10 more to add! Well, nine. I've already read one of your ten. Yay for the book list!

We've missed you greatly this week! I hope you have a great weekend and we'll catch up next week!

I'm doing mine now because I'll be busy tomorrow. But, I still can't figure out how to put in the link! And don't tell me copy and paste, because I don't know where and when! But, yeah! I've been looking forward to this for weeks!

The Sacred Romance was great. I also really enjoyed Peace Like a River (it's a gift book for me now), and Blue Like Jazz.

This is fun. I'll have to get my list going. Of course last month, I said I'd be all prepared and all...

Right.

Have a fantastic Easter weekend.

Great books, and three of them are on my favorites list too. Peace Like a River is as wonderful as fiction gets, and Girl Meets God has been on my shelf for years and I love to give it as a gift. The Sacred Romance is awe-inspiring, but I seem to have lost my copy as well!

The baby is getting the Jesus Storybook Bible in her Easter basket!

I'm so glad I got to participate this month and I LOVE your list. I love the Jesus Bible Storybook. The others? Well, I can't wait to read them. I LOVE to read, especially in the summertime by the pool. These will definitely be on my summer reading list! Happy Easter!

I'll have to check out some of those titles - we LOVE the Jesus Storybook Bible at our house. The girls and I are currently on our third read-through of it at breakfast time.

I will NOT admit to JUST seeing this because I thought you wouldn't haven anything posted this week:)

But I'm so glad you did! I've missed you!

It's a crazy busy week, so I'm a little bummed that I probably won't have time to link up this time around:( But I'm looking forward to next month!

Hope you're having a wonderful week.

I think I'm shallow. The books on my list would include the Twilight Series and the Outlander Series.

I LOVE getting new book ideas! Thanks! I've already added a few of them to my Amazon list!

I really need to write Blue Like Jazz down. I keep hearing how great it is, but I always forget about it when I'm at the bookstore.

Thanks for going ahead with the list, Mer. I'm so happy for your unplugged week, and hope it is going great, but really miss you around these parts!

Meredith, thanks so much for hosting this, even during your "off' week! I love it!

And now I have some more great books to look for at the library - awesome.

I'm going to keep this list with me for when I'm at the library and just wandering the stacks.

I've only read Girl Meets God, and I loved it.

SO GLAD YOU'LL BE BACK NEXT WEEK!

Enjoyed seeing your list, Mer. I don't know how I'd come up with a top-ten! I loved Girl Meets God, Blue Like Jazz and Peace Like a River. I confess I started Plainsong and couldn't get into it.

Melissa said...

I have not read the first book on your list. I'll have to check some of them out.

Thanks for posting your list because it reminded me to do it! I like to keep a list of new books to read in my car so that when I am at the library I can check out different books. Right now I'm reading Dave Ramsey's The Total Money Makeover.

Happy Easter Mer!
