A Broken Record

I haven't blogged in two days. That's rare for me.

No, I haven't contracted the over-hyped swine flu (thanks for asking though, B) I just haven't had anything interesting to say.

Do I ever have anything interesting to say?

ShhhhThat is a rhetorical question.

This isn't a weather blog, so I didn't feel like telling you about the snow we got on Monday. Or how soupy and cold it was here yesterday. However, I did take this pic (while driving) for our third grade friends in AR. Flat Stanley was the only one at our house loving the late April snow.
I also didn't feel like telling ya'll that I'm having another crazy-busy week. It seems like almost every blog post in April has been about me being busy or about weird spring snow. I'm like a broken record.

Here are some snippets of a few things going on in between snow and busy-ness.
  • Still waiting for my new debit/credit cards. I hate writing checks. But I hate carrying cash even more because if I have it, I spend it. Hoping my replacement cards come soon.
  • Seeing some light at the end of my project tunnel. My deadline is Friday. I feel like I might have a life again after that.
  • LOVED my alone time on Sunday afternoon. Did a little eating (Pei Wei), did a little shopping (TJMaxx, Whole Foods), and did a little driving/exploring. Wasn't gone too long, but it was quiet and it was perfect.
  • Sent my kids to school in shorts and capris in anticipation of 70 degrees later today. They were thrilled. I'm afraid to tell them I heard the "s" word again for Friday. There I go with that broken record thing again. Sorry.
  • Counting down the remaining school days. Including today, we have 16 more fun-filled and jam-packed days. I'm giddy about that. I LOVE summer and I am SO ready to have days where I have absolutely nowhere to be. I mandate rest for the first week of summer, because after the whirlwind finish, the kids and I are exhausted.
  • Been embracing my inner curly girl and letting my hair do it's own thing. Yesterday was the first time in 10 days I dried and straightened it. I still prefer it straight, but the curls are growing on me. What I'm really loving is how quickly I can get ready in the mornings when I go curly.
That's all I have time for today! My to-do list is calling. Bye, peeps.

We've missed you.

I'm the same way about curly (actually wavy) hair on me... takes TONS less time. But I rarely do that anymore...

Can't believe school's almost out for the year!! I'm wishing Mother's Day Out went through the summer though. ;)

It's hard to believe that your kids are preparing for summer vacation with snow in the forecast. Here in southern Indiana we are running air conditioners at least part of the time. I'm sure that by the time school lets out will be having 85 degree days.

I'm a curly girl too. I really like the straight look, but there just isn't time to do that daily and still get to work by 8. I've finally found some great curly hair products so I get more curl that frizz so it isn't so bad.

Glad to hear your mental health day was a success! I think I might just have to plan one of those for myself soon.

I think I need to see a new picture of curly girl. I know there's one on your blog somewhere, but I'm too lazy to go looking for it.

I have new hair today. It is short and makes my face look very round.

Sigh.

Embrace those curls!!! From one curly girl to another, curls are cool!

Totally agree. I need to see a pic of these curls. I wish I could do that, but if I don't DO my hair, it looks just that...undone. sigh.

And I'm with you. I'm ready for the time when I have no where to be!!

...sure glad there's twitter otherwise I may have thought that you did indeed have the Swine Flu...:)

Cannot wait for school to be out! Only 17 more days for us!!! :)
And I'm with you. Nothing but R.E.S.T. for the first week.

Y'all can quiet down now about being almost done with school. Of course we don't start till after Labor Day, but still...No fun watching folks get finished before us.

Miso soddy about the s-word. I want to say my snow day in 8th grade was on May 8th.

Glad you had some "me" time. TJ Maxx is a dangerously fun place for me to go.

Because of all the money I save.

Cracking up at Amy's comment.

It's going to be May soon. The snow's got to come to an end by then, right?!? Hang in there -- I know spring has got to be right around the corner. :)

I almost asked you if I could send Flat Stanley to visit you! He went to visit my mom and and dad in Maumelle instead.

Hang in there--summer's almost here!

Missed you (:

I'm nearing the end of my exam period now. One more paper next Wednesday and I'm done! (: I think that's probably 1 reason why I can understand the whole "whirlwind" part.

Take care!

Curly hair rocks!
My excuseImeanreason for going au naturel with my hair is that God created me with curly hair because he wants me to have curly hair. But I really just hate spending time on it.
And I haven't thought up an excuse for covering the gray...
:)
