Question of the Week...

What are you most looking forward to during your summer break??

We have eight more days of school, and I am so ready for summer I can hardly stand it. I'm looking forward to sleeping in, catching up on my reading list, and a family trip to Arkansas.

What about you?

I've read your blog for a while. First time commenting. I enjoy your blog very much.

This summer I too am looking forward to catching up on sleep. There will be a visit to our son who is working in Colorado -- your neck of the woods. (He'll be at a camp 8 miles up Old Stage Road) It will be an interesting summer as we end it with taking our "baby" girl to college. Then no more daily school schedule. That will be weird...

Hmm...I love looking at the past few months of my calendar and then looking ahead to June. Wide open! So I'm looking forward to having fun with the girls and not being under any deadlines.

And our bloggy backyard bash, of course!

We're still hitting the books till noon on June 18th.

The 19th, Drama Girl turns 10.

I'm looking forward to seeing lifelong friends on the 4th of July, and I'm looking forward to moving to our beach house for as much of the summer as we can. There's nothing quite like the rhythm of a summer day.

I am excited about being home with my kids without having anywhere to go. We can sleep in, eat when we want, and stay outside late chasing lightning bugs. It should be a restful time after a busy spring. I can't wait.

We're sneaking away to a vacation the week of 4th of July... it's the one week of summer that all 3 kids are off at the same time! CAN'T WAIT!

8 more days?!?! I am so jealous! We go until june 19th!!!! I am so ready to check out for the year. In fact we have an apointment with the middle school guidance councellor today. All 3 of us: Mom, Dad, and kid. If I feel like I'm only getting lip sevice I will just pull him out for the rest of the year. He's already not going back!
As for what we are going to do? Well, we are looking for a whitewater raft, so I'm sure the summer holds a few tamer river floats. We will spent an obscene amount of time at the beach. We are looking for a summer babysitter for the 2 days a week that I work. I still have a lot of time to think about it.

I have preschoolers so my life wont' change too much, but I am looking forward to more family time since hubby is a professor and works less in the summer

What's a summer break? Oh wait! I remember. That's when the kids are out of school, which doesn't apply around here any more. LOL

But there are two things I'm really looking forward to. I'm looking forward to getting my white picket fence planters back on the front porch and full of pretty petunias. And Mandy is coming out in July, the spend a whole week with me. That is going to be wonderful. I hate her living on the other side of the mountains.

The beach! I'm a huge water girl (which is one reason I like living in the state of 10,000 lakes). I will spend every sunny, warm day lakeside with my kids.

Those are the day I LOVE being a SAHM.

I am counting the days until I see my Hannah. She'll be home from England June 21st.

am looking forward to time off of teaching. I hope to be able to go to the lake with friends weekly and take the kids to the pool at least once a week....

I hope to spend some time writing and rewriting some old things.

I hope we get a trip into the beach...we're looking for a place.

Hope your summer is great, Mer!

Hugs,
Julie

No more homeschool schedule!!! :)
And our first-ever family vacation that's not in Texas or Arkansas or a cross-country move.
And I have to say, about your previous post, I hate the feeling I have after I lose control with my kids. It's unbelievable how I act sometime. No, you don't need to call CPS. :)
And I just found out how easily previous becomes precious. Glad I noticed!

Taking a few little day or weekend trips with the kids, my family reunions, VBS, the boys being in summer preschool camp and having one on one time with my baby daughter.

The kids are in school till June 6, so I have some more time to dream. LOL

I'm looking forward to sleeping in and generally having nothing 'really scheduled' for the most part. I'm also looking forward to our summer vacations......a long weeked to the springs and the a cruise! :)

Something new...new schedule, kids at new ages...the whole enchilada.

I don't know if I get to sleep in, yet. The young ones get up about 7:00 or 7:30.

Noah said he wants to help with yearbook next year--isn't that cool?

Love you friend!

I have special time with my g'kids during their school breaks! I got to take the twins on a road trip for 2 weeks this year!
We walked on THE London Bridge, drove up old Route 66, visited the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona & Wickenburg AZ--MAJOR blessings!
G'sons next! We plan to visit as many National Parks as we can!
FYI: Perk of turning 62-you can buy a pass for a one-time charge of $10! You & EVERYone with you, gets FREE admission to ANY US National Park-for the rest of your life! COWABUNGA! Bless GOD!!
YOUR summer plans sound GREAT! Sleeping-in, reading & Arkansas with family- oh yeah! Thanks for stopping by & 4 your kind words.

Hi Mer... A trip to Arkansas... Hope it includes Arkadoo and that I can see y'all. I usually take a few out of town trips during the summer. Looking towards returning to Richmond, VA... my home of 26 years prior to living in Arkadoo.

School is not out here until June 5th. I am looking forward to no homework, sleeping in, lazy days, our family trip to CO and the hubs and my getaway to CA.
