Question of the Week...

I love to read. I mean I LOVE it. But I've been so busy lately that I've had to "shelve" a few books until I can give them my full attention.

In light of that, here's a 2-part question for you.

1. Do you prefer fiction or non-fiction?
2. What is one book on your summer reading list?

Generally, I prefer fiction. I find non-fiction so fatiguing.

And this book is at the very top of my to-read list. Can't wait!

I like fiction. And I don't like anything too heavy. Just fun books - I really like books set in southern settings. (maybe because I understand them better). I just go to the library and pick books based on their covers. ha!

I read anything in print. Fiction, non fiction, magazines, cerial boxes, backs of mosquito repellant cans....
Right now I am reading "Bringing Up Boys" by James Dobson. Waiting on my bedside table is "Mothers and Sons" by Jean Lush. Both were recomendations from the blogger world about how to relate to a tween boy, and both were Mother's Day gifts.
The best fiction I have read lately was "The Kite Runner". It was so good that I want to read "Land of a Thousand Splendid Suns" by the same author.

I read blogs.

What are these books you speak of?

(Just kidding. I think. I mostly read non-fiction. There's too much cheesy fiction out there that annoys me.)

Before kids I read lots of fiction. Then I started to only make time for parenting books and devotional books. I miss fiction... need to make time for it again.

Currently on my nightstand I NEED to read - Creative Correction (Lisa Whelchel) for my 3 year old. :o)

A friend recommended The Shack (fiction by William Young) so I am planning to read it this summer. I also plan to read for my summer QT Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World (Joanna Weaver).

I have non-fiction books I know I should read, but can't seem to put down the fiction.
I'm working on The Shack (Young) and Dunkirk Crescendo (Thoene) right now, but anxiously awaiting the release of book 8 of the A.D. Chronicles by the Thoenes, Eighth Shepherd. The A.D. Chronicles are their best books yet.

Fiction for me. Though I will occasionally read a highly recommended non-fiction work. And I do mean HIGHLY recommended.

Not sure what's on my reading list this summer. I have read so much lately that I need to find a new list to pull from. Any suggestions??

I mainly LOVE to read fiction. Every so often I get in a mood and will read 2 or 3 nonfiction books in a row.

On my list for the summer is re-reading Captivating. I also want to read the new Lori Wick book and the latest Grisham. I could probably list 10 more books on my list...I also LOVE to read.

I like fiction when i have the time...I prefer Karen Kingsbury,Francine Rivers, Susan Meissner, Debbie Macomber...to name a few....I've been putting away some just for summer so I'm not tempted to buy from the bookstoreb where we camp!...but I probably wil anyways...all those good resolves go down the drain when I see a must have book!

Ooohh, I didn't know he had another book out...Yay!

I love fiction best, but will happily read both. Especially if the nonfiction is conversational, like with Sally Clarkson. I can't work too hard at the end of the day to understand something.

One book on my summer list will likely be the one you pictured. If that's considered cheating, then I'll pick: One Thousand Splendid Suns.

I like fiction. Mary Higgins Clark is one of my favorites. Right now I'm into Bodie Thoene's historical fictions.
Relaxing!
God bless,
Brenda :)

Gina and I grew up in the same household. THE ONE WITHOUT A TV!
So I also read everything.......
fiction is by far my favorite and right now I am reading My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I'm not that far into it, so no recommendation yet. I'm also sludging through Prince Caspian right now, which is not my favorite genre, but the rule at our house is that you must read the book before you see the movie.....who makes these stupid rules anyway?
I also have Captivating about halfway done and have just started Parenting the Heart of Your Child.

Normally I don't have this many books going at once. I'm usually a one book at a time girl.
My summer reading list is getting long (as is this comment), so I better get these ones finished.

I do love your blog, may I link you?
