Right down the middle...

I probably do not need to be sitting here at the computer this morning because I have a very lengthy to-do list. John's parents arrive this evening and I still have laundry and cleaning and errands to run. I've been working hard this morning though, so I'm rewarding myself with a blog break.

Most of you guessed correctly that I'm both an introvert and an extrovert. I've typically tested "E" for extrovert, but the older I get the more I'm discovering that I lean more towards being an introvert. People energize me, but people also wear me out! I've learned that if I go to a party or a crop or Bunco, I need a couple of hours after I get home to unwind because I'm so keyed up. But too much time around people makes me tired...and grouchy! I took an online quiz this morning and scored right down the middle. I wasn't one bit surprised.

I just filled out Sarah's online application for her 5th Grade Passport. One HUGE perk of being a 5th grader in the state of Colorado is that you can get a free season pass for most of the ski resorts in Colorado. FREE. I've heard that it's because they want to get kids hooked on skiing. Makes sense to me.

We're not big skiiers...mainly because it's quite expensive for a family of five--but it's so much fun! I bought a coupon book from school that has some awesome deals in it, so hopefully with Sarah's pass we can manage a trip or two this winter.

Thanks to my friend, Stephanie, I've been thinking about some of the systems I have in place that make my home run more smoothly. My two biggies are laundry and meals. If I can stay on top of those two things I feel like I'm able to function well. I've only felt like I finally mastered these two systems in the last year or two which I'm sure has a little something to do with the fact that that's when Abbey started preschool and I found myself with a bit more time. Anyway, I'm mulling over the idea of writing some posts on my laundry and meal systems. Would that completely bore you to tears???

Today feels like Friday because this our short week! The kids are out of school tomorrow and Friday and I am so excited. The kids are excited too because their Mimi and Papa will be here. Which reminds me...I need to get back to my list!

I always like reading other's suggestions about anything that makes their house run a little smoother!

I have only been skiing a few times, but if I had a FREE pass I would go more ;)!

I'm always up for fresh homekeeping ideas. I'd add dishes to your list but I already know you clean your kitchen every night :)

You're a must-read for me, regardless of the blog-fodder. I'd love new ideas. Always looking to streamline our home. Have fun with your family!

I've deleted and reloaded your feed in my Bloglines and it's still not updating for me. Still that annoying red exclamation mark beside your blog title and several others in my Bloglines.

Laundry and meals sounds like good subjects to me. Everybody does 'em. ;o)

Enjoy your visit with family!

Love and hugs,

Diane

i call myself a shy extrovert. crazy, i know. but, i love to be with people....it just takes a while for me to warm up and be comfortable. i don't enjoy being alone for very long.

I'd love to hear your meal and laundry ideas. Not boring at all. Right now, I can use all the help I can get!

Oh yeah, I wanted to add that I think I'm like you in the introvert/extrovert category. I should take a test, but I could relate exactly to what you wrote!

I need all the help I can get, esp. with the meal planning. I am an expert at laundry, but feeding my family? Not so much!

Ah...to-do lists... But you'll triumph! Really really!

I would love your tips on on meal planning and laundry! I have an almost 5 year old son, a 2 year old daughter and I am 15 weeks pregnant with baby # 3. I could use all the help you care to share! I struggle with both those areas and when I fall behind in laundry or meal planning things get overwhelming for me and the whole family. I would LOVE any tips you have! Thanks! I'll check back soon for your ideas!

I can completely relate to the whole introvert/extrovert thing. On the Myers Briggs test, I turned out as a weak extrovert. Like you, I love being around people but after a while, I need some alone time to regroup.

And, please -- definitely want to hear about the laundry system. Because I'm drowning over here! :)

Thanks for the link! You know I'm always interested in home making ideas. = )

A big part of why I've been posting what I do for keeping my home is because I have several early twenties and newly married or college graduates reading my blog from my church. My season of life isn't such that I can have them in my home or meet them for coffee but I can share with them via my blog. Just trying to use technology for a little Titus 2. = )

Laundry and meals are my biggest stressers! They are never ending. I need to come up with something, too, to make this run smoother.

It would not "bore me to tears"...those are the areas I struggle the most in...especially laundry. So, I'd welcome some tips!

Have a great weekend with your inlaws!

I'd love to hear about your laundry and meal planning systems! It would definitely not be boring to me :)

Bring it on...that wouldn't be boring at all. I think we could all use some fresh insight.

I wish I had more extrovert in me, but I guess I am who I am, and that's ok. What online test did you take?

You know, as long as I've lived in Colorado, I've been skiing twice and it didn't appeal to me at all. But I'm actually glad I don't like it because boy, it's expensive!

But I'm aware I'm the oddball - everyone I know loves to ski. And you're right - fifth graders in our state are lucky!

yes, yes, I would love your meal/laundry/housekeeping hints and tips! I try to think I have our household of 6 running fairly smoothly, but you know, there's always room for improvement:)

I'd love to hear about your systems for meals especially. Laundry and I are usually on peaceful terms but the meals are another thing!

Your desciption about being with people and how it energizes and also wears you out sounds just like me!

My husband has skied on and off a few times since we've lived here but I've never been! For the first few years I had a good excuse of either being pregnant or having a new baby. It doesn't appeal to me. I should give it a try and see before I pass judgement though. I've always thought snowshoeing would be fun, a good workout and enjoyable WITH someone else. Skiing has always seemed like a solitary sport.
