Lunch with Friends...

Oh, I had so much fun yesterday at Joanne's house! It was great to catch up with my long lost friend Kari, and to meet Kimberly, Kate, and Angie. Holly was there too, and though we live very close to each other, we don't see each other often, so I was thankful to spend time with her too! Angie's sister Amy was sick and didn't get to join us, and I was sad that Wendy was unable to come too. We missed you guys!

Joanne made a most delicious lunch for us, and it was so fun to sit around her table and visit. It's interesting because I met some of those ladies for the first time yesterday, but because I've read their blogs, I felt like I already knew them a little bit.

Abbey ended up skipping school to go with me yesterday because there was a glitch with the after-school arrangments I'd made for her. She felt so grown up, and I'm glad she joined us because she was there to take this group photo. Kari is missing because we forgot to take one before she left...sorry Kari!

It really was a fun day for all of us! Joanne is so warm and thoughtful! She even made apple pie for dessert because she knows I don't like chocolate. Wasn't that sweet!? Thanks, Joanne, for having all of us over. It was wonderful to be on the receiving end of your hospitality!

Hey there. So nice to see you stopped by. I so enjoyed our day together...I think it was the highlight of my month. I have to tell ya, some of those comments...I about fell off the bench! I was a bit shocked at first, but when I saw the look on your face, it took everything to keep me from a never ending stream of laughter. You know, I was a bit out numbered never having experienced marriage or child birth, etc... I think the blood ran out of my face a couple times, but I learned a lot, and enjoyed listening and getting to know you all. I so look forward to many more gatherings. You all were so much fun.

Oh, I forgot. No, that is my niece, my sister's daughter. I went to Houston to visit her. People think she is my daughter when they see us together...ahem...like I'm old enough!!! lol

It was fun...and I was so sad when ya'll left. Wish we could have spent the WHOLE day together. Next time...

And I'm glad Abbey was able to come too. Daisy loved her (as did the rest of us!) and it was fun to meet her. Think we need to get together with all the kids. Definitely this summer at our pool--big pool barbecue, anyone?--and this next winter for your Santa's Workshop day. Hmm...sounds like a HUGE party is in our future!

Have you finished TruFaced yet? I'd love to hear what you think about it--those are the guys that Toben's working with in Phoenix.

Happy Friday!

Joanne

It WAS fun, wasn't it? I left feeling like I'd just met six life-long friends. So, when are we doing it again? :)

Also, I saw you have The Shack on your reading list. I meant to ask you about it the other day. I'm eager to hear what you thought when you're finished... I was like, "whoa." (Deep, huh?) :)
