Saturday, I LOVE You!

I'm having a really, really good day!

I woke up early (way too early) this morning. Got up. Checked email and a blog or two, then decided that since the rest of my family was still in bed, I'd try to fall back asleep.

And I did.

For two whole hours!

Got up at 8:15AM (that's late for me!) and found John in the kitchen making breakfast. Waffles for the kids, eggs for the two of us. He makes THE best eggs.

I unplugged yesterday and got my house spic and span so I'm going to read and watch a few Little House on the Prairie episodes with the kids and pretty much do nothing until this evening.

John is taking me on a date and I am SO excited. There are many things I love in life, but time alone with my husband tops my list.

It's shaping up to be a beautiful day.

-----------------------------------------------------------

On a totally unrelated note,  I think I'm ready for a blog break. It might be two days, it might be two weeks (doubt it) but I want to unplug for awhile.

I'm going to post my Final No-Spend Challenge Update sometime this week but beyond that I just don't know.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Oh, and thanks for your support on my Truth and Facts post. I loved reading your comments (and emails) so much. Sounds like a lot of us are on a quest for authenticity. If you have some time, go back and read what Melissa@Breath of Life wrote in her comment. She suggested that maybe I had my facts and truth mixed up, and I think she is totally right! Swapping the words "fact" and "truth" in that post makes so much more sense to me.

-----------------------------------------------------------

I keep meaning to tell you about my dad. He started chemo and radiation last week. It was sooner than we first thought, but his doc thought he was ready. He's had two full weeks of chemo and hasn't felt bad (big praise!). He got off track with radiation this week because of the ice storm in AR but he said they'll just tack those days on at the end. Thanks to those of you who have emailed me asking about him. He seems to be doing well and feeling good.

Sounds like you're having a wonderful day. I'm a wee bit jealous...as I'm working hard to clean house & spinning my wheels at that!

looking forward to your return!

OmGosh, Mer, my husband just brought up the Facts vs. Truth subject last night. (w/o knowing about your post, and I didn't mention it to him), he was saying the same thing that Melissa pointed out. He had been listening to a sermon that spoke of us seeing the facts as reality when the truth is what the Word says about us! I thought of your post when he was telling me this.

Thanks for letting us know how your dad is doing.

I just came in from the "power outage" (I'm at Jodi's)... and I'm trying to catch up on my reading. I love your Truth/Fact post! I bet we ALL could write some of those.

I'm glad you heard from your Dad. I'll be praying for him as he goes through his treatment.

Glad to hear your dad is doing good...from what I understand they got hit pretty hard up there.

I understand about needing to take a blog break but I sure will miss you!

Take good care on your blog break, my friend.

Enjoy the rest of your awesome day.

Mer,

Thanks for the update on your dad. I've been meaning to ask you. That reminds me that I need to post an update on my dad soon, too.

Hope you have a fabulous date!

Wow, I'm somehow 9 posts behind!

I loooove your day. Again, if I were next door, I would totally come over and watch little house with you. :)

Enjoy your little break. And by little I mean... don't stay gone too long!

xoxo

Have a fun date! Thanks for the update on your Dad. Enjoy your blog break! We'll miss your great posts and be excited whenever you decide to post again!

I wanted to explain...I decided not to link my email to my blog profile. I feel better about giving my email to people I trust vs anyone having access to my email address. Hope you understand! Thanks for explaining how to link my email though! At least I now know how to do it if I ever change my mind! I trust you that is why I felt fine giving you my email address! :)

So glad you had such a great Saturday. Hope your date was super fun. Isn't it amazing how a decent amount of sleep can make you feel? It makes all the difference in the world to me when I get a full 8 hours. Most of the time I am barely surviving on 5 or 6, walking around like a zombie:)

My sil posted pics of the ice storm (she's in NW AR). Incredible! Tops of trees snapped off like they were straw. And all still coated in layers of ice. They and my parents bought generators last year and were mighty glad for it this year! Otherwise they wouldn't have had water (well pumps need electricity) but at least they had heat. Fire place inserts can be a lovely thing!
